With a business background encompassing not just their home country of Scotland but also London, the Swiss Alps and America, Robert Armour and Anne Pattis have, in Almancil`s "O Limoerio", created a thriving cosmopolitan restaurant.

Robert and Anne are finding that visitors to Algarve are keen to try the more traditional Portuguese choices, but ocasionally you`ll find a few dishes that can't be mistaken for anything other than British, although with a flavor that's distinctly "O Limoeiro".

"I`m not Portuguese but I do appreciate the Portuguese kitchen and culture," says chef Robert. "My aim is to create a fusion of Portuguese and northern European cookery that appeals to a wide audience. This is achieved by taking familiar dishes and experimenting with local herbs and spices and also of course by using fresh local ingredients in season."
